John Rogers from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has headed up a research team with participants from the US, China, Korea, and Singapore, who have together produced and demonstrated a new flexible and implantable LED array that can be inserted under the human skin with upto 75% Flexibility and Stretch.


Coated in thin silicon rubber, they're also waterproof and safe to implant under the skin. That means that you could, in theory, spell out your name in flashing lights under the skin.This technology is actually designed to help monitor diseases, wounds and activating light-sensitive drug delivery and other medical terms which goes beyond our thinking ability. But what makes it famous is that you can now control and customize your tattoo under the skin without pain.. At least, unlike a real tattoo, you can switch this one off.
